This project was for clients who are selling their beloved former home and our goal was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the front steps to the rooftop, from inside the sunroom and out. The roof deck is planted in a naturalistic style with long-blooming native perennials popular with the pollinators—Echinacea, Gaura, and Calamintha nepeta—with the soothing movement of Panicum virginatum in the background. A beautiful compact Clethra anchors the corner.  At the front door, an Ilex with seasonal companions welcomes passersby with an autumnal spirit of abundance.
